"To photograph is to appropriate the thing photographed. "
““I laughed when I first saw the picture. She is wonderful, this woman: striking and odd, indefatigably optimistic-looking. But then she uncorks something different in me, a kind of protectiveness, how badly they want to achieve some kind of glamour, how magnificently they miss the mark”
"True self " is the name of my selfie series, The series is inspired by Cindy Sherman’s “Untitled Film Stills” Most people ignore their own feelings at some point in their lives because they care too much about other people's thoughts and opinions. In order to make a good impression on others, sometimes you will do things you don't want to do to make others like you. But, are you really feel happy when you do things you don't like to make people like you? Everyone has a different side. Most of the time, people show their best side, but who can see your true self? When you try to please others, it's like locking your true self in a cage, or even killing your true self to gain others' approval. But sometimes you have to, like when your parents ask you to follow their ideas, or when you and your best friend like the same shoes but only have one shoe left.
