Art that looks at what woman see
The trauma of being uprooted from her Cuban homeland as a girl would leave her with questions about her identity and make her more conscious of being a woman of color.
This specific quote calls out to me because I can imagine the trauma of being stripped of your roots and identity to have to rediscover that again. This country it is so easy to forget your roots and where you came from, due to a different lifestyle, and diversity. You always have to remember where you come from, and your humble beginnings.
Ways of Seeing
The social presence of women has developed as a result of their ingenuity in living under such tutelage within such a limited space.
This quote is powerfull because it basially says how woman are smart and wired different then men. They think differently and therefore woman
His presence may be fabricated, in the sense that he pretends to b capable of what he is not.
This quote called out to me because as a man I know how true this is. Men like to pretend that they are something they are not in order to please a woman. They will go the extreme route and pretend they have everythng put together, etc just to impress a woman. Sometimes we may not have it all together but it seems as if we do because we are trying to Fabricate ourselves.
I chose to recreate this specific picture because it looked very cool to me. I actually enjoyed recreating this piece.
