“What Cindy did, starting with the ‘Film Stills,’ is she realized the degree to which the stills used to promote cinema influenced the way people portrayed themselves, and she saw it as pure theater.
“exaggerated moments I decided to create that may have happened in real life.”

I was heavily inspired by Cindy Sherman and her untitled film stills series. Her showing these popular portrayals of women in these generic movie shots that aren't based on any particular movie as repression of herself but womanhood as whole to me is very interesting. Is fictionalized yet realistic at the same time. I began to think of how I can put my self I those situations of thinking of a possible version of myself in the style of the untitled film stills. I was thinking of what could happen if I fell on hard times in my career in music, and what it would look like and this is what I got. It's partially fictionalized yet shows something that could be very real, or in a movie. Just like Cindy Sherman.
